HETTINGER -- Tayler Scott rushed for two touchdowns to lead North Prairie to a 20-8 victory over Hettinger-Scranton on Saturday in the 9-man state semifinals.
The Night Hawks were shut out until the final minute of the fourth quarter, when Hudson Pierce hit Brandon Pierce on a touchdown pass with 42 seconds left.
Jalen Pfeifer added a 1-yard TD run in second quarter for the Cougars (11-0), who will face Richland in the state championship game at 8 a.m. MST next Friday at the Fargdome.
Hettinger-Scranton, which won the Region 5 title for the first time and had its longest playoff run as a 9-man team, ends its season with an 8-3 record.
