Our weather will set up in a similar pattern for the next few days. Strong southerly winds will be in the eastern Dakotas and western Minnesota helping to boost up our afternoon peak temperatures. High pressure will be situated over Wisconsin and parts of eastern Minnesota keeping the weather sunny and fairly quiet for those areas.
As mentioned above, our weather will be very similar for the holiday weekend. Highs could reach the upper 80s and some lower 90s around the Red River Valley with a large area of the region reaching at least the 80s. Saturday looks to start off dry, but showers and thunderstorms develop for the western Dakotas later in the day. Winds will be out of the south and southeast most of the weekend. Our strongest winds will be in the Dakotas and the western edge of Minnesota on Saturday. Gusts will be peaking into the 20s and 30s throughout the day.
Sunday is shaping up to be nearly identical to Saturday's forecast. Warm again for most of the region with a stronger south and southeast wind. Watch for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms to pop up across the western Dakotas later in the day and into the evening.
Winds will be out of the south and southeast Sunday. Gusts could again reach into the 20s and some 30s for the Dakotas. I'm not seeing as much wind for eastern Minnesota and into Wisconsin where the center of the area of higher pressure will be sitting.
