MINNEAPOLIS -- The Dickinson State baseball team got a good pitching performance out of junior Jamil Acosta en route to a victory on Monday at the Metrodome.
Acosta struck out seven while allowing just three hits and a solo home run to help the Blue Hawks beat Bethel College (Minn.) 2-1.
Dan Fernandez's triple in the fifth inning scored both of DSU's runs. The senior drove in Cody Holland, who had walked, and Ruben Solis, who had reached on an error.
Andrew Grafton picked up his first save of the season by closing out the Royals (1-3) in the seventh.
"I thought our pitching stood out in that game," DSU coach Duane Monlux said.

DSU (3-2) played a second game, but officials called it with the Blue Hawks leading 10-7 after 6½ innings due to a 4½-hour time limit. Both games were scheduled for seven innings.
NCAA and NAIA rules require a baseball game to go seven innings, therefore negating the second game and the statistics.
