Dickinson piled up 14 hits to defeat Mandan 9-1 in an American Legion nine inning game on Monday.

Schiff threw eight innings, allowed three hits (one run) and struck out four. James Kary came on in relief to close out the final inning.

"He threw real well," Hansen said. "He got ahead of the hitters. He got out of a couple jams today as well."

The Roughriders' (5-11) bats woke up during the Economart-Delaney Recycling Tournament in Williston this past weekend and continued through the week. Cole Anderson went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. He also scored two runs.

"In our last four games we've played really well," Hansen said. "I'm not shock or anything. We had a few defensive blunders, but we overcame them with our bats today."

Kary added two hits, a double and a run, while Alex Huschka supplied three hits and a double.

Tanner Schaf took the loss for the Chiefs (4-8). Brady Zittleman, Dwight Mack and Parker Harm all had hits in the game.

The Roughriders are starting the see the consistency pay off. Dickinson has performed well in all stages since the 1-7 start to the season.

"They kind of understand what I'm looking for in our team and what things need to be on a daily basis," Hansen said. "They are striving to do that."

Dickinson now hosts Fargo Post 2 in a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. today at the Southside Municipal Ballpark.
