Seibel’s game-winning hits leads Bismarck past Dickinson

BISMARCK -- Josh Seibel had a knack for driving in important runs during an American Legion baseball doubleheader between Bismarck and Dickinson. The Governors' center fielder drove the game-winning in the opener. However, he didn't stop after there.

Seibel ripped the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning and hit the go-ahead, three-run double in the second game to lead Bismarck to a sweep over Dickinson 2-1 and 6-4 on Wednesday.
Dickinson’s Lucas Jones was charged with the loss after he went 1 1/3 innings, allowed one run on two hits and struck out. Mark Erickson started the game for the Roughriders (17-7). Erickson went eight innings, allowed one run on seven hits and struck out one.
Dalton Feeney, who came in for relief of the starter Seibel, picked up the win. Feeney and Seibel each went five innings, allowed a combined one run on seven hits and struck out 10.
The Roughriders’ Alex Huschka went 2 for 4 with a RBI, while Tanner Hopfauf scored the team’s lone run. Dylan Wallner supplied two hits. Kendall Jones and Dylan Skabo each had a hit.
Bismarck’s Jared Spooner, Kole Bauer and Quinn Irey each had two hits.
In the second game, the Roughriders held a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the fifth. Bismarck struck for a six-run fifth inning, which included Seibel’s bases clearing three-run double.
Dickinson’s Alex Huschka, who was charged with the loss, gave up six runs in 4 2/3 innings. Kendall Jones pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for Dickinson.
The Roughriders managed score a pair of runs in the sixth inning, but come all the back. Kole Bauer, who picked up the win, and Jake Brucker combined for seven innings.
Luke Herauf and Skabo each had a pair of hits the Roughriders, while Cole Anderson, Lucas jones and Wallner each had a hit.
Dickinson continues its season traveling to the five-day Blue Springs Missouri Tournament beginning Wednesday.
