BEACH -- Ashley Sickler was solid in the front row and had a huge presence in the back row to help Dickinson Trinity beat Beach in a non-district volleyball match between two of the area's top teams.
Sickler led the Titans with 12 kills, nine digs and five blocks to help defeat the Buccaneers 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22 Thursday night at the Beach High School gymnasium.
Sickler, a 5-foot-11 senior, helped keep the Titans unbeaten at 5-0 this season.
"She did a great job in the front row," Trinity coach Melini Grosulak said of Sickler. "The ones she didn't get a stuff block on, she got her hands on a lot of hits and it floated down a little bit.
"When she was in the back row, she did a great job of covering a lot of space for us."

Kendra Kovash had 29 assists to set up Sickler and the rest of the Titans. Danielle O'Donnell had seven kills and Katie Kovash added six.
Emily Hardy had 11 kills and six blocks and Brittney Dietz had 10 kills and five blocks to lead the Buccaneers.
"We knew we were going to have to come out and play aggressively and everything fell together for us," Grosulak said.
