BELCOURT - Tallying 39 runs on 29 hits, the Dickinson High softball team shutout and swept Turtle Mountain in two five-inning games, 18-0 and 21-0, on Saturday, May 11.

In game one, freshman Mataya Mortensen threw a five-inning no-hitter, striking out five in the process.

The bats provided plenty of support, with 12 players recording a hit. Mortensen and senior Brianna Ashworth homered, but senior Kennedy Kuntz and junior Emy Personne were the only Midgets to put up two hits.

Game two featured freshman Hope Fath on the mound for the first three innings. She walked on batter while striking out six. Seventh-grader Ava Jahner stepped on the mound in relief and allowed three hits over her two innings of work. She walked one and struck out one.

Freshman Reese Hauck paced the offense, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs. Senior Kamryn Kuntz and Mortensen also had a pair of hits.
