BISMARCK -- The Dickinson high boys basketball team waited too long to get started Friday night against Bismarck St. Mary's.
The Saints beat the Midgets 67-62 in a West Region game.
Junior Brad Obritsch scored 20 points for St. Mary's (5-12, 5-9 West) while senior John Preszler added 13.
Despite leading in the early moments of the game, Dickinson fell into a funk and the Saints took advantage, building a 34-22 halftime lead.
"We settled on outside shots and didn't work the ball inside," Dickinson head coach John Wilson said. "We missed a lot of easy shots."

The Midgets (9-8, 7-7 West) did however show their true colors in the last 7 minutes of the second half.
"In the last 7 minutes we played well," Wilson said. "We just waited to long to play hard."
Senior Jarl Abrahamson had 25 points for the Midgets as junior Jesse Kessel chipped in 17 and Nate Moody finished with 10 points.
Battling back from the halftime deficit, the Midgets brought it within three in that span, but couldn't get over the hump.
The Saints shot 65 percent (13 of 20) from the free-throw line compared. The Midgets shot 58 percent (14 of 24) from the line.
