GILLETTE, Wyo. - Dickinson’s Qwint Stroh placed first in the saddle bronc riding during Monday evening’s performance at the National High School Finals Rodeo by posting a 70-point ride.
Stroh’s score placed him fifth through Tuesday morning’s performance. Results from Tuesday evening’s performance were not available at press time.
The leader in the saddle bronc riding is Stetson Wright - of Milford, Utah, and the middle of five children to two-time saddle bronc World Champion Cody Wright - who registered a score of 78.
Brendan Butterfield, of Richardton, earned a score of 128 in boys cow cutting on Monday evening, placing him ninth in that performance and 41st overall. Dickinson’s Annie Praus turned in a score of 127 in girls cow cutting, which placed her 14th in Monday’s performance and 56th overall.
In the team roping, Nevada Berquist of Watford City and Jesse Chase of Mandaree completed their first run in 7.03 seconds to place second during Tuesday morning’s performance. They sit sixth overall.
