Midgets add state qualifiers at Regionals

JAMESTOWN — The Dickinson High girls swim and dive team boosted its list of state-qualifiers at the WDA regional meet on Saturday, Nov. 3, from Jamestown High School.

Setting a program record, the Midgets will send 15 girls to the state meet next weekend in West Fargo.

Clearing the state-qualifying barrier by more than three seconds with a time of 1 minute, 6.49 seconds, freshman Reilly Meyer will race at state in the 100-yard butterfly. Seventh-grader Aryana Twist earned her spot after finishing the 50 freestyle in 27.14.

Clocking in at 1:09.62, eighth-grader Ericka Williams will participate at state in the 100 backstroke while freshman Savanna Baranko swam her way to the big stage in the 500 freestyle with a time 5:51.61.  

The Midgets took fifth in the team results with a score of 215. Scoring 527 points, Bismarck Century won its fourth consecutive WDA title and will be looking for its fourth straight state title next weekend.

Midgets senior Brianna Ashworth was selected to the All-Conference team.
