BISMARCK -- Preston Tescher threw three touchdown passes and rushed for two more to keep second-ranked Bismarck St. Mary's unbeaten on Friday night.

Tescher threw for 100 yards and rushed for 39 more to lead the Saints to a 35-6 Class AA, West Region victory over fourth-ranked Dickinson Trinity at the Bismarck Community Bowl.

"They give us a punch and we didn't punch back," Trinity head coach Randy Gordon said.

The Titans got the first jab in when quarterback Ben Gordon found Brandon Sickler on an 11-yard touchdown pass with 1:38 to play in the first quarter.

That was as good as it would get for the Titans.

He hit Jon Preszler for a 14-yard touchdown with 1 seconds left in the first quarter. Andrew Nelson added the extra point to give the Saints a 7-6 lead.

Tescher then found Lance Becker on a 36-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and hooked up with Preszler again from 9 yards out with 5 minutes to play in the third quarter. He had two 5-yard rushing touchdowns in the second quarter as the Saints took a 28-6 halftime lead.

"He's a pretty good player," Randy Gordon said. "He does what he does pretty well. He throws well too."

The Saints sizzled on both sides of the ball, rushing for 196 yards as a team and holding the Titans (3-3, 3-2 West) to just 135 total yards.

Trinity rushed for 53 yards.

Ben Gordon hooked up with receiver Christian Olson on five passes for 52 yards.

"We just didn't carry out as well as we could have or should have," Randy Gordon said.
