Tibbs, who came to DSU in 2016, spent the last year serving as the assistant coach and guiding the 2016-2017 to a North Star Athletic Association regular season conference championship, as well as a conference tournament championship appearance.

"Marlon is extremely deserving of this position," head coach Josh Vaughan said via the press release. "Tibbs has been integral in the Blue Hawks rise to prominence last season.
