BOWMAN - The Dickinson Trinity boys basketball team remained undefeated in Region 7 on Tuesday following a 70-47 victory at Bowman County.
Senior Shawn Stoltz led all players with his 21 points and seven rebounds, and classmate Lucas Jones added 15 points and eight assists to help move the Titans to 12-2 overall and 5-0 in the region.
“This was a great way to come off of our Mardi Gras break,” Trinity head coach Gregg Grinsteinner said. “We saw a lot of different defenses, and I’m happy with how the kids responded after two weeks off.”
Trinity led 21-11 after the first quarter despite what Grinsteinner called a slow start.
“The first five or six possessions, we were getting good looks, but we couldn’t score,” he said. “We turned up the defensive energy and started to score off of that.”

The Titans added 22 points in the second half and continued their offensive success from there.
“Lucas had a couple threes in the first half, and that opened some stuff inside, and we got a lot of high-low in the second half,” Grinsteinner said. “We were very patient and deliberate and got the shots we wanted. And we have to be able to break defenses down. You have to become a half-court team late in the season because teams aren’t going to allow transition, but we did a good job of executing.”
Alex Scherr added eight points for Trinity, and Easton Walby followed with seven.
For Bowman County, Dylan Scott led the Bulldogs (5-10, 2-3) with 16 points. He was limited to just 4 of 13 from the field but went 7 for 7 at the line.
“Dylan Scott’s a good player and hard to defend,” Grinsteinner said. “He was taking the ball to the basket aggressively.”
Chance Andrews supplied nine points Bowman County, and Corban Massey was next with eight.
