KILLDEER -- Jacob Volk scored 17 points despite playing through an illness to help Dickinson Trinity win its District 14 opener on Saturday afternoon.
Jesse Kubik added 15 points and eight rebounds and Isiah Binstock had 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists as the No. 3-ranked Titans crushed Killdeer 73-37 at the Killdeer High School gymnasium.
"We changed defenses up quite a bit and we had really good balance on the offensive end," Trinity head coach Gregg Grinsteinner said. "We fed the two big dogs inside and, man, they really played well."
Trenton Rohr led Killdeer (3-4, 0-1 District 14) with 11 points and four assists. The Cowboys visit New England at 7 p.m. next Friday.
Alex Binstock added 12 points and four assists for the Titans (8-0, 1-0 District 14), play unranked and undefeated Minot Our Redeemer's at 2:30 p.m. next Friday at the Shiloh Christian New Year Invitational in Bismarck.
