The Dickinson Trinity girls volleyball team ended their season on a high note after capturing 3-0 victory over Bismarck Shiloh Christian in the seventh place match of the 2017 NDHSAA Class B State Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Fargodome.
The Titans swept the Seahawks with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-20 and end the season 33-9-3 following their ninth state appearance.
In her last game wearing Titan red and white, senior outside hitter Sarah Mayer led Trinity with 10 kills, seven digs and a team-high seven aces. Senior defensive specialist Bailey Jahner contributed a team-high nine digs and an ace. Junior middle hitter Masy Kuntz led the Titans with 13 kills while adding six digs and a pair of blocks.
Bismarck Shiloh Christian was led by Liz Larson with 10 kills and three blocks.
Between the eight state qualifiers, the Titans ranked second in service aces margin (+16) and third set assists margin (+5) during the three-day tournament.
Mayer’s 11 aces were most among all players throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, junior setter Alexa Walby’s 106 tournament assists was tied for third. Kuntz’ 41 kills and eight blocks were good enough for third in their respective categories.

The Lamoure-Litchville-Marion Loboes defeated Thompson High School 3-0 to win the Class B state championship.
