Titans volleyball wins consolation bracket

DES LACS -- For the third consecutive weekend, the Dickinson Trinity volleyball team tested its skills in a tournament, competing in the Des Lacs-Burlington Invitational from Des Lacs-Burlington High School.

DES LACS - For the third consecutive weekend, the Dickinson Trinity volleyball team tested its skills in a tournament, competing in the Des Lacs-Burlington Invitational from Des Lacs-Burlington High School.

After dropping their first match to Langdon in gold division play, the Titans earned a pair of wins in the consolation bracket on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Dickinson Trinity dropped the first set to Langdon 27-26 before the Cardinals ran away with second frame, 25-15, taking the victory.

The Titans bounced back with a strong performance over South Border 25-13, 25-22. In a tight consolation final battle against Carrington, Dickinson Trinity needed extra points to complete a three-set comeback 15-25, 26-24, 16-14.
Titans senior outside hitter Masy Kuntz and senior setter Alexa Walby led the way in a couple of statistical categories. Kuntz amassed 53 kills and 16 blocks over the two-day tournament while Walby paced the team with 135 assists and 10 aces.

Senior outside hitters Bre Tessier and Farrah Zeller also contributed with strong defensive efforts, leading the way with 55 and 41 digs, respectively.
