Dickinson High gymnasts Fossum, Kudrna place 1st, 2nd at state meet
The standouts for the Dickinson High gymnastics team showed exactly why they’re standouts during the state meet in 2015.
Dickinson juniors Acacia Fossum and Keana Kudrna finished first and second, respectively, in the all-around during the North Dakota championship in February at Minot High School gymnasium.
Kudrna finished runner-up in the all-around with a 37.700.
“When we were both on the podium, we started to tear up,” Kudrna said in the Feb. 29 article. “It was a very special moment to have with my best friend.”
Fossum earned the fourth-best all-around performance in history (38.667), scoring a 9.500 on bars, 9.717 on beam, 9.800 on floor and 9.650 on vault.
Fossum became one of just seven gymnasts in the entire country to win four state all-around titles, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations’ record book.
