RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- Dickinson State junior Halley Treeby won the breakaway roping average at the Wisconsin-River Falls rodeo and placed in the goat tying to open the 2009-10 college rodeo season with a women's all-around victory.
Treeby had a two-round average of 6.4 seconds in the breakaway roping and had one goat tying time of 7.9. She also had a two-round average of 34.01 seconds in the barrel racing, which put her in fifth place.
DSU sophomore Drew Gartner paired up with Levi Tyan of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture to win the team roping average at 12.3 seconds.
Other DSU winners included, Troy Vaira, who won the bareback riding with a 155 average and Kaden Deal and Ty Thompson, who shared the saddle bronc riding average title. Both had two-round totals of 147.
Gartner took second in the men's all-around thanks to a third-place average of 25.2 seconds in the steer wrestling.

The DSU women's team took second with 350 points while Black Hills State was first with 480. The men's team came in fourth at 460 points. South Dakota State won the men's with 680 points.
