OXBOW -- Dickinson Trinity made a second-day climb and Heart River had an eighth-grader finish the season as an all-state selection Wednesday at the Class B boys golf tournament.
The Titans improved by 35 strokes from Tuesday to Wednesday to finish in third place with a 355-320-675.
"They came out and played up to their capabilities," Trinity head coach Tyler Reisenauer said. "Overall though, you can't be disappointed with the season they had. I'm just proud of the guys how they finished strong today."
Meanwhile, Heart River's Joey Wagner cobbled together a pair of outstanding days. He shot an 82 Tuesday and an 79 on Wednesday to finish in ninth place for the tournament. The top 10 finishers were given all-state awards.
"That was a real pleasant surprise," Heart River coach Jerry Perdaems said. "You take our team, we haven't -- as a boys team -- had the opportunity to get that experience before. He just was in the groove and was able to play with some of those kids who had certainly a lot more experience and hung with them."

Heart River took eighth thanks to Wagner and Zach Miller, who took 25th with a 88-82-170.
Trinity's top three golfers played close the entire tournament and were separated by just two strokes.
Eighth-grader Willy Jahner was 16th at 89-77-166, junior Nathaniel Knopik had a 87-80-167 and senior Lance Pender shot 87-81-168. Connor Friske rounded out the Titans' team scoring with a 94-82-176.
Hazen's Josh Rothe, playing as an individual, narrowly missed all-state. He was 12th with a 85-78-163.
