GRAND FORKS -- The Dickinson High girls hockey team's season came to an end on Friday.
West Fargo scored three goals in the second period and added two more in the third to claim a 5-1 win over the Midgets in the consolation semifinals of the state tournament at Purpur Arena.
The game was scoreless after the first period and West Fargo's Kacie Johnson put her team on the board with a score early in the second period. Kaylee Lothspeich and Kelsey Kloos followed with goals.
In the third, Johnson scored to put the Packers up 4-0 with the assist going to Paige Swanson. Dickinson (10-13) scored its one-and-only state tournament goal when Madison Kinzel slipped the puck past West Fargo goalie Andrea Klug. Freshman Kira Kuntz assisted on the play.
Kloos followed with the game's final goal and Klug finished with 14 saves.

Dickinson senior goalie Ashley Ludwig had 28 stops in the final game of her prep career.
Dickinson girls hockey coach Chris Coates was not available for comment.
