DUNSEITH — Shooting a combined mark of 351, the Dickinson High boys golf team finished ninth out of 10 teams at the Turtle Mountain Invitational on Saturday, May 11, from the Garden Gate Golf Course. The Midgets were two strokes behind Bismarck St. Mary’s, who finished eighth, and four shots behind Bismarck Legacy, who came in seventh.
JAMESTOWN — Following the first day of the Class B East-West Tournament, the Heart River boys golf team sat in third place with a combined score of 343. One day later on Saturday, May 11, the Cougars repeated their performance of 343 to remain in third, totaling a final score of 686 from the Jamestown Country Club.
MINOT — Competing in its second meet in three days, the Dickinson High boys golf team captured ninth at the Minot Invite on Monday, May 13, from the Vardon Golf Club. The Midgets earned a combined total score of 363, while Minot and Bismarck Century were on top of the leaderboard with marks of 307. The Magicians were crowned the victors after winning in a fifth-golfer tiebreaker.
FARGO — Traveling to Fargo for three non-conference matches against teams hailing from the Eastern Dakota Conference, the Dickinson High girls tennis team emerged with convincing victories over Valley City, Fargo South and Wahpeton on Friday, May 10.
BOWMAN — One week ago, Western Morton County sophomore Gehrig Geiss and Heart River senior Jett Mattson earned spots in the state meet. Three more golfers out of Region 5 joined the list during an individual qualifier on Thursday, May 9, from the Sweetwater Golf Course.
BISMARCK — Putting up its lowest score of the season, the Dickinson High boys golf team finished sixth with an overall mark of 358 at the Bismarck High Invitational on Saturday, May 4, from the Riverwood Golf Course. The Midgets ended the meet just one stroke behind Bismarck Legacy for fifth place and nine strokes behind Bismarck High for fourth.
BISMARCK — The Dickinson High girls softball team had its 11-game winning snapped during the first game of a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday, May 4, from the Clem Kelly Softball Complex. Defeating the Midgets for the third time this season, Bismarck High earned a 4-3 victory before Dickinson bounced back with a 21-2 blowout over Bismarck Legacy in five innings.
KILLDEER — Through three events this season, Heart River senior Jett Mattson and Western Morton County sophomore Gehrig Geiss are the only area golfers to capture medalist awards.
JAMESTOWN — After combining to shoot a team score of 360 during day one of the East-West Classic, the Dickinson High boys golf team posted a day-two mark of 361 on Saturday, April 27, earning a 16th-place finish with an overall tournament score of 721 at the Jamestown Country Club.
WATFORD CITY — Through 12 innings during a doubleheader against Watford City on Tuesday, April 30, the Dickinson boys baseball team crossed home plate in 10 of those frames. The Midgets came away with a 21-0 five-inning victory in game one before defeating the Wolves 11-4 in game two from the Watford City High School Field With the two-game sweep, Dickinson remains the lone team in the West Region with an undefeated conference record at 8-0.
