KILLDEER, N.D. — A 37-year-old man from Jeanerette, La., died Thursday afternoon after a head-on collision on Highway 22, five miles north of Killdeer. According to a North Dakota Highway Patrol report, at noon on Dec. 27, the Louisiana man was in a Ford F-150 traveling north on Highway 22. The truck was in the left northbound lane, in a passing zone.
FARGO — North Dakota and Minnesota gas prices have dropped sharply after sitting at their highest rates since 2014. The state’s gas prices are now at the lowest they’ve been all year, according to AAA ’s daily survey of gas stations. North Dakota North Dakota’s average price has dropped sharply this month to $2.43, the lowest since October 2017. Just last month, customers paid an average of $2.67 per gallon of regular gasoline, the highest price since November 2014, when the average was $3.03.

FARGO — Minnesota utility customers will receive rebates as a result of federal legislation, but whether North Dakotans will get money back remains unclear. Utility companies across the country paid lower taxes after the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 passed in December. Since then, states have been ordering those companies to pass on the savings to customers. The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission last week directed state utility companies to return $200 million to customers in the form of refunds.
