Heavy snow likely to continue through the afternoon

A WINTER STORM WARNING remains in effect for BILLINGS, DUNN, HETTINGER, and SLOPE COUNTY until 11 PM MST TODAY.

A BLIZZARD WARNING remains in effect for GRANT and MORTON COUNTY until 11:00 PM MST TODAY.

A near-steady to steady snow - which may be heavy at times - will likely continue in our region through the remainder of the morning and into the afternoon hours.

Total snowfall totals across our region will vary a bit, with heavier amounts further to the east of Dickinson and lesser amounts west of Dickinson. Around 4 to 8 inches of total snowfall will be likely for Dickinson, with over 6 to 10 inches possible towards Bismarck.

In addition, winds will be on the increase throughout the day, with gusts upwards of 35 mph possible. This will lead to areas of blowing snow.

The snow showers will begin to taper off towards the evening, but a breeze with gusts upwards of 30 mph will remain possible throughout the overnight.

Temperatures will also drop considerably later tonight with overnight lows around Stark County dropping to as low as 0° to -5°. These temperatures, combined with the winds, could put windchill values as low as -20° to -30°.
